Ambatale Water Treatment Complex is one of the major supply drinking waters to Greater Colombo area. There are two plants operated at Ambatala, old treatment plant commissioned in 1966 & capacity of nearly 3,37,000 M3/day and new plant commissioned in 1994 capacity is 180,000′ M3/Day
